Thinking activity on Dryden's essay

Thinking activity of Dryden's essay Here is my answer:- 1)Both definitions are very nearly same and some are different points but also languages has been changed and talked about the imitation with human being as well as languages. After the Aristotle's definition of the tragedy, Dryden was the first who tried to give a well formed definition of the play. There are some points we can see that difference in both the definition. In the definition of tragedy Aristotle talks about imitation of action. While in the definition of play Dryden talks about a just and lively image of human nature. We find something is that, they both talk about the imagination but in different way. Aristotle talks end with the definition with pleasure and catharsis. 2). If you are supposed to give your personal predilection, would you be on the side of the Ancient or the Modern ? Please give reasons. Thinking activity on Words worth

Thinking activity on  Words Worth Here is my answer related this Topic, Question.1] What is the basic difference between the poetic creed of 'Classicism' and 'Romanticism'? There are two ideologies. We can say that, Romanticism is feel they are free to express in simple manner. It means, it is not necessary to follow classical rules of writing. Classicism and Romanticism are artistic movements that have influenced the literature, visual arts ,music and architecture of the western world over many countries. In romanticism is celebrates strong emotions, not just feeling of love. Question.2] Why does Wordsworth say 'What" is poet? rather than who is poet? Every human passes through the good and bad experiences, but everyone cannot express it in form of poetry. A poet connects to readers with his emotions as well as his imagination. He builds up a just and lively image of an experience. Rather than who is he, what he is matters. This what makes

Film screening on Laggan screening review Review

Laggan film review :-   After watch the laggan movie and my purpose is different befor like,     Theme of post colonialism :      On 15th August , I watched the movie Lagaan: Once upon a time in India at our department . India is straining under the rule of the evil British Empire . The local village quickly forms a cricket team,  the British team is defeated,  and the local village's crashing tax burden is reduced for the next several years .  The movie also paid a strong message about Equality of castes,  an issue that continues to plague Indian. It is great to watch postcolonial people talking pride in their culture and history even if it means playing up stereo types and formulaic plot lines . We can see that how cricket, the once proud cultural form of Colonial Britain , is subverted in such a way that it becomes a tool for decolonisation .  The movie also paid a strong message about Equality of castes,  an issue that continues to plague Indian. It is great to wa

Thinking activity on Coleridge

Thinking activity on Coleridge  Blog about Coleridge:- 1) write in your words the difference between poem and prose. Answer) It is very difficult to differentiate between poem and prose. We can see that metre or rhyme or both is used in a poem . But they are not used in prose composition . Poem's purpose is the communication of pleasure . But prose's purpose is the communication of truth . A poem must be an organic unity. But a poem can not please us if there is no organic unity. The main aim of poetry is to give pleasure . The language of poem is highly ornamental and complexity of words. While in the prose, the language is very simple and we do not find a use of rhyme and meter like poem. Prose has natural form of writing . It is very simple . In poem, it has structured form and also it is decorated by the poet. Poetry express ideas and feelings in few words which are more attractive and prose express ideas and feelings with lots of words . And sometim

Assignment Neoclassical age. paper no. 2

Assignment 2 Paper No. 2 Neo classical literature  Sem. 2 Prinjal shiyal  Q. What are general characteristics of the Neoclassical age? Ans Literature can be broadly divided into ages, starting from the middle ages, renaissance, neoclassical period, romantic period, modern period, to the post-modern period. Neoclassical authors saw the world under a new light. Unlike the previous two eras, the writers of this era gave more importance to social needs as compared to individual needs. They believed that man can find meaning in society, religion, natural order, government, and literature. In no time, the winds of a new revolution swept through Europe and North America, and changed everything from art and literature to society and fashion, on its way. Though the neoclassical era later transitioned into the romantic era, it left behind a prominent footprint which can be seen in the literary works of today.
