"Kya khena !" Movie and "The Scarlet latter," Novel.

✍️Kya Kehnat movie in context of The scarlet letter.

☺️ Today I want to write about the the movie KYA KAHENA ! and THE SCARLET LATTER. This task is given by Heenaba Zala, and it's link I put it here. https://heenabazala.blogspot.com/2019/07/screening-kyakehna-in-context-of.html?m=1

✍️Kya Kehnat movie in context of The scarlet letter, so let's start,...

1). What are the name the protagonist in both the works ?

In the novel protagonist character is Hester.
And the movie's protagonist character is Priya.

2). Write there story in brief.

  ◆ The novel:-

The novel start to prison, and one woman stand their with her children. She was Hester, mother of Pearl. She punished by society for her sin and her husband Roger Chillingworth is present their. And people say, "Speak your lover's name. But, Hester not speak his name and want to save him. Her lover was Arthur Dimmesdale, he know very well; he is also Perpent that's why he feels guilty and punish himself. He says to Hester I want to live with you, she is my children and I confess my sin/love, but, Hester says 'No' and she wears "A" for adultery. Her husband want to take revenge for Hester's sin and he has plan to kill Arthur Dimmesdale. Chillingworth fail in his plan. And at the end of the novel Arthur Dimmesdale died and her husband also become die. And at the end of the novel Hester, our protagonist character also died. But, in movie in different end and happy ending.

◆ The movie:-

The movie KYA KEHNA! as similar condition face by protagonist character. Priya's condition relevant to Hester's life. Priya's love relationship with Rahul and her best friend was Ajay. Rahul as a villainous character, but Priya don't know about him. So, it's emotional decision by her and over emotionality is always terrifies. When she talk to him about marriage and then he reject her for that, because he use girls as a things not as a lover. And then she decide to give birth of her children and her family not support. She face each and every situation Alon. At the end people accept to Priya and her children. So, she wants to marry with Ajay. So, it's happy ending because, she accepted by society.

3).  What is the role palyed by society in Hester's life?

In the novel I think vital role play bye society, because without it's role or participation it's impossible to became tragic end fo the novel. In my point of view Hester's life become meaningless and artificial. Because, her emotions, importance, choice, and independence are nothing, but, society punish for this. And society doesn't give freedom to love, freedom to live and independent. So, it's role by our society in Hester's personal life.

4). What is the role played by society in Priya's life ?

Priya is able to face society and she give answer to those questions raised by people. So, here I don't think society support to her sin/ love but, her ability, education and mentality are more powerful than Hester and she face reality of life.

5)Compare and contrast the male characters, Roger Chillingworth, Arthur Dimmesdale, Rahul, and Ajay.

Roger Chillingworth like as a Rahul and Arthur Dimmesdale's character connected with Ajay. I want to compared both characters together because, their life and aims were similar in context of comparison between them. So, Chillingworth support to Hester and Ajay accepted to Priya with children. So it's my understanding about this question.

6). Compare and contrast ‘The scaffold scene in The Scarlet Letter’ and ‘a year-end performance in Kya Kehna in which a group of students performs a play on Priya and her pregnancy’.

Yes, it's very important role of the scaffold and annual performance in movie. So, Hester face society as against of her life and choice. And at the end 'The scaffold scene was unable to help her but, she punished by society.

In movie Kya Kehna! in the annual performance is very important for her. Because, this is the main theme of the movie and it depends on it. So I would like to say that the program of college was very important for her clarification.

7). What are the reasons that Arthur Dimmesdale and Rahul do not come forward to accept their fatherhood? How do you they differ and what are the similarities?

Arthur don't accept his fatherhood because, he connected with religion and people believe him as a messenger of God. That's why he not accept it.

Rahul belongs to rich and high class family, and that's why he was very rude person. He has freedom to do everything and he use this easily. He has power of money and his own mother's support, so, he tack revenge to Priya for her brother's bad behavior. It's differences between both the characters. And their similarities was love and care but they do not accept thei fatherhood.

8). What is the role played by Chillingworth in Hester’s life? Why do you think he wanted to take revenge on Hester and Dimmesdale?

Chilingworth is the husband of Hester and he played best and appropriate role in her life. Yes, I think he wants to tack revenge on Heater and Dimmesdale because, his absence behind all this things happen and Hester not give her lover's name. That's why he wanted to tack revenge on both.

9). What is the role played by Rahul's mother in Priya’s life? Why do you think she wants to take revenge on Priya?

Yes, I think she was prig because, she don't like poor people like Priya and her family. She has money power and political power, that's why her behavior Haughty. That's why I think she wants to tack revenge on Priya.

10). Write a note on class difference in Kya Kehna.

Rahul belongs to rich family and Priya was middle class family. So, here upper and lower class difference.

11). Why do you think the director has lifted the character of Ajay to the ideal state? Is it possible in real life? What are the reasons of your YES or NO?

I think its possible in only divers case only. Ajay is ideal character because, I think director wants to happy ending. Bit, in real life it's impossible, it means Not possible. My reason for 'No' is I experience and see every day life, so that's why I say it's not possible in reality.

12).  How do you see Hester and Priya as individuals?

Heater as a good mother and lover like traditional India wife for Arthur. And she use her freedom for choice, I think she is best in her life.
Priya as a best daughter and good student. She tack her own decision in life. So, may be she is over emotional and innocent.

13). Write a critical note on the end of the movie and the novel. Why do you think the novelist has not given happy ending?

Novel's end is unhappy and in movie was happy end. So, both ends speak a lot in my point of view.
Because, novel shows reality of life and here I find that truth. So, I think our society always play with peoples emotions,  choices and many more. So ma'am it's my understanding.

                Thank you!☺️
