The White Tiger by Arvind Adiga

 ◆◆◆"The White Tiger"◆◆◆
       Hello,
Readers after long time I write one blog on Adiga's "The White Tiger" and some questions were given by professor Dilip Barad sir, once visit... because, there are thinking activity and quiz also. It gives me lots of inspiration to write something critical views. So, let's go...
◆What does writer by saying that something are better said in English language?

Why do lovers go to the "Zoo" ???

I think people are crazy for visit the Zoo, and lovers are goes to visit that and they know this is the some type of bonding of life. Though not a natural world by any means, more like a collection of living dioramas, a zoo exists in its own time zone, somewhere between the seasonal sense of animals and our madly ticking watch time. The scent signposts of lions, hyenas and other animals. Just as dancers have body memory, we have wilderness memory. When they are come before marriage and than this is the message for some type of binaries for both and it's show through the Zoo and Animal world.

◆How far do you agree with the India represented in the novel The White Tiger?

According to Adiga's view the India represent reality of rich and poor people's life but, the novel is in the center of 'entrepreneurship' and "Haves" and "Have Not". I am not totally agree but, somehow I think it's reality of power and politics. He gives many appropriate reasons related to education, religion, democracy, economy, society, business, money, poverty, landlords, and he write about some other person like, Gandhi, Buddha, politicians, police etc. I am agree with all related references by Adiga but when Balaram think own way at that time I am not agree because, he was self centers man. And I think his decision is wrong to become suddenly rich and become master to servant. He is a murderer because Balaram killed his master and than he was take money: its not his property to invest and for become rich person. People think 'honesty is the best policy of life', but when it will be part of politics than its harmful to us. So, I'm not totally agree with him to kill someone and than become selfish at high level. Yes, I agree with the reference of India represented many points.

Do you believe that Balram's story is the archetype of all stories of 'rags to riches'?

yes, it's true because, when people are poor and than suddenly they will become rich than its problematic for Society. Middle class and poor people feel like they are treated by their masters  as like servant but it means they have to do struggle a lot. But here is totally opposite because, rather than doing struggle Balaram become murderer. its not fair for reality of life and its really harmful for us. Many politicians and entrepreneurs are become suddenly richer than this words are become true, "Rags to Riches" that's why I agree with this questions.

◆"Language bears within itself the necessity of its own critique, deconstructive criticism aims to show that any text inevitably undermines its own claims to have a determinate meaning, and licences the reader to produce his own meanings out of it by an activity of semantic 'free-play' (Derrida, 1978, in Lodge, 1988, p. 108). Is it possible to do deconstructive reading of The White Tiger? How?

Yes, it is possible to do deconstructive reading of  'The White Tiger'. While the river 'Mother Ganga' and how it effect to our life and than Gandhi's ideas and than Buddha's ideas are totally different ways its all points are easily criticized by readers. So, I think it's true to become suddenly richer and get wealth. I think he was a self centred protagonist character in this Novel.

◆◆◆With reference to screening of select scenes of Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire in today's class:

◆Write a blog on similarities between The White Tiger and Slumdog Millionaire. Include following points:

1. Narrative structure - Wanted Poster # KBC show
  ● Both has similar starting points and than both writers ask 3 questions to readers. In the white Tiger discuss on the economy and protagonist character has crucial mindset to become rich and Master of others. And in the Slumdog Millionaire has same protagonist as poor person and he will become rich. He face lots of struggle in his life, after all he face this types of aspects in his childhood also. Both start with some kind of questions and somehow similar prologue and connectivity to the reality of our society and people's experience.  When Mr. Ashok asked same as in the slumdog millionaire. So, starting to end some points are similar.

Wanted poster is all about the subtitles or events: and it's each lines were very criticised by writer and how it's open with each events and how it connects like chain. So, the poster is important in this novel and it's connected with protagonist character. This is the symbol of our society and may be reality of life. This poster was very important part of the novel because, it is inter connected.

KBC show is all about the "Rage to rich" and it's correct for the protagonist character Jamal in the Slumdog Millionaire.
It could be the best part of Jamal's life and it helps him to become rich. In the film we find that how this KBC show was very appropriately described according to realistic scenes, emotions, relationships, economy, society, culture etc.

2. Indianness
    ● In this novel and movie both show indianness through many real scene ad picture. Jamal malik who was poor boy live in slum aria and this is the show our poverty of Nation, not only for people. So, slum aria, poverty, school, train, clothes, overcrowdedness and so on. According to me when people doesn't get food for two - three days than their condition and hunger is shown in the "Chappaniyo Dushkal" is appropriate for know about what is hunger? And it shows condition of city also not only in villages. Where we are ? Where is our "Vikas" ? We doesn't know because Media should give us only post- truth instead of truth.

3. List of questions asked in the film. If you have to replace or add a few questions, which questions would you like to add. Remember, questions shall be in-tune with the screenplay of the film.

Answer:- (a) Aramis

  ● I would like to ask one question about the protagonist character,1. After gain lots of money than what will you do in future? What would you like to become?
A. Politician B. Business man C. Entrepreneur D. Professor

4. On what grounds can you deconstruct the film with reference to post colonial tools / theories.
 ● Here many critical and hidden truth are show by writer but, once it will become voice for people than good. I think here I wants to apply Feminist theory, Colonization, and some other. Because, here I find class division and poverty and richness has own space I'm different levels. So, film tyres to show condition of poor people and "Dharavi" as the part of our country. And novel gives deeper sense for this reality and it's good to see good and bad both sides of our nation.

5. Compare with Texture and Treatment of subject content in film and novel.
 ● Film and text both are not similar line to line but, when text has each and every deep information. Many part of the text are missing in the movie and it's not properly authentic for critical study. That's why I recommend the text is better for deep understanding of the simple but, logical sentence. It's my points of views about the text and the movie.

                                Thank you!
