   ● Modernism:

Modernism according to me; Modern Age is the age of transformed and it's all about private and social life. The change from the old to the new; like narrowness and spiritual ideas to universal and open-minded way. From blind faith to rational thinking is very interestingly I find in this age. The modern era means new values, new ideas, new life - style, mee rules and Western influence. The literature of the New Age is the literature of challenge and of the reconstruction of new world. Because, after world war one (1914 - 1918) and world war two (1939 - 1945) is very important for this changes and new Values.

◆ General Characteristics of the Modern Age:-

   Modernist poems; 1) The Embankment

The poem is may be about one man who is capitulate person. And he wants to peace and something powerful; because, man is addicted to something. Man or particular person who talk with god and say something. Here I find two words like, Old star and blanket; this two words are shown falling and bad things. When old star shows us falling down and Blanket is symbool of darkness. And people always try for existence.

Key words like, Gold heels, 'I', sky, blanket, god, so, this are the key words in this poem.

   2) Darkness by Joseph Campbell

It's four /4 lines Irish poem. Title itself is one of the best point to understand the poem. Darkness means the bad part of something and it's not good for human beings. So here something is 'lost' and than rise of new way of life. So, here I find existence and existentialism. So, it's deep & meaningful but, easily understand with simple language.

Key words; Darkness, soul, lost, need.

   3) Image by Edward Storey

The poem 'Image'  is only 3 lines, but comprehensive meaning.  Here woeful condition and full mood but, dark night so, I find lonely person and he or she has sorrow and unhappy condition. So, some key words loke, Pyre, full moo.

  4) 'In a station of the metro' by Ezra Pound

Pound's two lines poem is very interesting and very simply I understand this. Here, Ezra says about the Paris Metro Station. Because, some crowds of people and voice of metros. Train is simbol of various kinds of people, religion, culture and different languages. So, it's vast and deep meaningful poem, and I personally like this.

Words, Petal (of tree), black bough etc.

 5) The Pool by H. D. Hilda Doolittle

Only 5 lines in this poem, and each lines are more relevant to the title. Here, one water - rock is as a symbol and this is the best example of something connect with each other. And one of the best example of River; it's sometimes deep or sometimes vast flow of water. So, this combination is very important for this poem.

Like, Pool,  River, water etc.

6) Insouciance by Richard Al dingin

"Insouciance" is one short poem by Richard and it's five lines. May be he talks about soldiers or kings. Because, they are fearless and honest, they have power to change politics and somehow they doesn't afraid of any fear or pressage. One day we will wear white winged and become doves, it is poets imagination. So, it's my understanding about this poem.

Word;  White wings, Doves, fearlessness etc.

7) Morning at the window by T. S. Eliot

This poem by T. S. Eliot and he write in London. This poem is outbreak version of World War One. He has commiserate for people and specially children, because they doesn't have enough door and clothes. He write about condition of country and so many affected people. This poem has 9 lines and it's easy to understand for me.

Key words, Basement Damp soul, Twisted faces etc.

8) The Red wheelbarrow by William Carlos Williams

The Red Wheelbarrow is one of the best poem by William Carlos. This poem is different to understand for me. Red wheelbarrow is kind of  Vehicle. And another thing is White chicken. So, its very complicated modern poem.

Words like, white chicken, wheelbarrow etc.

9) Anecdote of the Jar by Wallace Stevens

The poem is published in 1919. This poem is 12th lines and each line is meaningful. Sometimes we feel like Baffle. The talking about the "JAR". I find here the beauty of Nature and the beauty of real things. So, it's my point of view about this poem.

Key words, Jar, hill, ground etc.

10) "I" by E. E. Cummings

Here, one very simple and short poem by E. E. Cummings. Three main words is most important like.

Fall.

I think it's critically logical and easy to connect symbolically. So, it's connected with everyday life. It's my points of view and understand.
